Hi all! Just got back from a much-needed vacation, and I’m jumping into The Body at Clearwater Bay again! Before my vacation, all of the characters were cast and recorded with the help of my friends over at VPG Studio!
Can’t wait for you to hear the talented voice actors who are part of this new project!
The next step for me is to go through the recorded lines and edit them. To share a little about what that looks like: when a voice actor records lines for me, they send me, at minimum, two takes of each line. I then have to go through every line and decide which take to use, make some slight edits (such as normalizing the volume), and save it so that I can bring it into Unreal Engine. I’ll be doing that for the next week or two, and I still need to record the lines for Alex. I recently got a better microphone that I’m excited to try out!
I’ve also been working on some small quality-of-life adjustments in my game, such as allowing players to skip dialogue by clicking anywhere on the screen, rather than having to click on a specific button. It’s a small detail, but it’ll make the game feel more polished.
I’m thinking of eventually going back and polishing up White Oak Inn with the things I’ve been learning on this new project, but that will be a whole project in and of itself. For now, I’ll keep plugging away on the new game.
I’m also considering making merch available. Is anyone interested in that? If so, let me know and let me know what kind of merch you might be interested in!
Other Projects to Look For
Whelp, I’m headed back to work, but before I go, I wanted to let you know about some of my friends’ projects!
Recently, the game Gumshoe Detective Agency: The First Case came out. The developer is also a fan of Nancy Drew! In the game, you are on a 1990s computer searching for information about a missing person. Check it out:

In a month, Penelope Pendrick and the Art of Deceit comes out! My friend Julia has been pouring her heart into the project for years. She is also a fellow Nancy Drew fan, and Penelope Pendrick has that same classic point-and-click style. You can check out the demo now!
