It’s already the middle of July! It’s crazy how fast this year has been going by as I continue my work on Alex Hill. My family has been asking me when they think I’ll get the game released. It can be hard to know exactly when a game will be done because it feels like a huge puzzle I’m slowly piecing together. I have large parts of the puzzle done, but I still have large chunks missing as I search through the puzzle pieces making sure I get everything in place. At the moment I believe I’ll have the game out sometime in the first half of 2025. This will give me time to finish putting the game together, have play testers test it out, and then allow me time to fix the inevitable bugs that will need fixing. If any of that timeline changes I’ll be sure to let you all know!

I’ve gotten around 95% of the dialogue animations done. I still need to go back and make sure everything is working the way it needs to. I have some video sequences that I need to animate as well, but for now I’m taking a break from animation because it can get a little tedious.

Lately I’ve been working on a minigame you’ll be able to play 😉 I won’t say too much about it right now, but I’ve really enjoyed putting it together.

I’ve also been working on the logic for the game—all of the “if the player clicks on this before doing this task, this is what happens” The logic is the glue of the game so I have to stay super organized to make sure the game flows the way it’s supposed to.

I watched a couple streamers play the Alex Hill demo today! It’s so much fun seeing players enjoy the game and commenting that they can’t wait to play the full game! I was re-energized as I was reminded that people are appreciating the work I’m putting into Alex Hill. I love seeing players enjoy the little details like drinking coffee and eating chips. It makes me smile 😀 The streams also help me see things that I missed and need to fix, so a big thank you to all the streamers out there that have checked out the demo!
